Rasool is a writer, composer, and engineer. He is also an entrepreneur and a mentor. Being incarcerated since 1995 has allowed these qualities to flourish and transform him into a well rounded individual. His music is a reflection of his influences. They range from rock to hip hop, classical to soul. No interdiction can be formed to restrict the human mind. When faced with adversity the mind will either rise to the occasion or fall to the wayside. The mind of Rasool has transcended past the concrete that surrounded him and has manifested itself in the form of music. Despite the obstacles every aspect of the project has developed in a cell. Each song captures a moment of Rasool’s emotional state while incarcerated. These songs are designed to inspire and inform the listener of prison life for Rasool. Upon release Rasool will continue to pursue his musical aspirations. He will also use his influence to warn others of the pitfalls of prison. He sends up a prayer that he will be able to give something back to the community that he once took from.
